State Polytechnic of Padang Emerges Victorious at PORSENI XIV Pencak Silat Competition

The Pencak Silat competition at the 14th PORSENI, held at the State Polytechnic of Malang from July 21 to July 25, 2024, concluded on a high note, with the State Polytechnic of Padang (PNP) emerging as the overall champion. Dominating the event, the State Polytechnic of Padang secured a total of 7 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.

Top Performers of the Competition

The State Polytechnic of Bali claimed second place with an impressive performance, earning 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze medal. This achievement placed them second in the final standings of the Pencak Silat competition. The State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya also showed remarkable prowess, finishing third overall with 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals, establishing themselves as a formidable force in this competition.

The athletes demonstrated consistent dedication and high-level training. Their impressive medal tally proved they are the best in the Pencak Silat PORSENI XIV competition.

In an exclusive interview, Flowerina Rizkifitria, a Pencak Silat athlete representing the State Polytechnic of Padang, expressed her feelings and struggles during the competition. “Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful for this achievement. It is the result of hard work and the prayers of everyone who supported us,” Flowerina said enthusiastically.

Flowerina further mentioned that the toughest opponent in the competition was herself. “The toughest opponent, in my opinion, is oneself, as all participants underwent the same rigorous training,” she explained.

Regarding the most memorable moment of the competition, Flowerina shared her joy in meeting and competing with athletes from various universities. “This is a very valuable experience. We support and learn from each other,” she added.
