The Challenges Faced by the Athletes at PORSENI
When asked about their feelings during the competition, both Ammar and Cecilia admitted to experiencing significant tension at PORSENI. However, this tension fueled their determination to perform at their best on the court. “It was very intense,” Ammar said (*), reflecting the seriousness and focus they maintained throughout each match. Despite facing pressure, they managed to stay concentrated and deliver outstanding performances, which was evident in their impressive results. Their meticulous preparation and intensive training over the past six months significantly contributed to their success.
Rigorous Training and University Support
Discussing their preparation, Ammar revealed that they underwent a three-month training camp. The biggest challenge they faced during this period was combating the laziness that often hindered their practice sessions. “Fighting laziness is very difficult,” (*) Ammar admitted. Despite this, they remained committed and worked hard to maintain their training discipline. The support from Politeknik Negeri Malang was also crucial. The university provided comprehensive facilities such as accommodation and meals, along with financial support in the form of allowances, enabling them to focus on their training and competitions.
The Role of University Support in Their Success
The substantial support from the university served as additional motivation for Ammar and Cecilia to give their best in every match. “The campus support is excellent, providing accommodation and covering all meals,” Cecilia explained (*). This highlights how serious Polinema is in supporting their students’ athletic and artistic endeavors. Looking ahead, Ammar and Cecilia hope to see the achievements of Polinema athletes continue to grow, enhancing the university’s reputation in various competitions. “We hope Polinema’s athletes continue to achieve more,” Ammar expressed, showing a strong desire to keep making outstanding accomplishments in the future.
A Message of Motivation for Future Competitors
In closing, Ammar offered words of encouragement to his fellow competitors who will be participating in the finals the following day. “Stay motivated to represent Polinema with pride,” he said (*). This message reflects the fighting spirit and pride held by Polinema’s athletes. With strong determination and solid support from their university, they are ready to face challenges and are determined to continue bringing glory to Polinema in every competition they participate in.
