MTCMEDIA & PORSENI – Malang, July 24, 2024 – Novia Gusrita, a student of Bengkalis State Polytechnic, made history by winning two gold medals in the Inter-Polytechnic Sports and Arts Week (PORSENI) held in Malang City. Novia has long been an athlete in track and field events.
Novia outperformed her opponents in the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints. In the 100-meter race, Novia recorded a time of 13.62 seconds. Meanwhile, in the 200-meter race, she clocked in at 28.12 seconds, securing the first position with a significant time gap from her closest competitor.
“I feel very proud because, out of so many students, we were able to represent Bengkalis Polytechnic and win gold medals. However, our efforts were also supported by our lecturers, family, and friends,” said Novia (*) with emotion after the medal ceremony.

This achievement is not only a source of pride for Novia personally but also for Bengkalis State Polytechnic. “My preparation was quite thorough. Two years ago, I participated in this competition and won third place. From that experience, I was even more motivated to work harder,” she said (*).
She also shared many memorable moments during her preparation. There were many ups and downs, especially last year when Novia was ill. However, that experience only made her more determined to rise and achieve better results.
With this victory, Novia Gusrita further establishes herself as one of the top athletes in PORSENI. It is hoped that this achievement will motivate other students to continue striving and bringing honor to their alma mater on the national stage.
