MTC MEDIA – Malang. The PORSENI XIV event was lively, with excitement seen at every location of the sports competition. However, the excitement of PORSENI was not limited to the various matches that could be enjoyed. Not far from the main competition arena, specifically at the Graha Polinema Building, there is a food court that you can visit between watching the matches. One of the most interesting things in the food court is tahu gejrot, a typical Cirebon dish that adds to the liveliness of this event, offering a unique and distinctive taste.
This was one of my favorite dish when I was in school. Back then, I could buy it for only 2,000 rupiah, around 2015 or earlier. However, now you have to spend 15,000 rupiah. Given the current economic conditions and perhaps also the cost of the place, the price is still understandable. With just 15 thousand rupiahs, you can enjoy a cup of Tahu Gejrot with generous serving of tofu, all drenched in the signature sauce. The ample portion can be shared with your friends and still leave you feeling full.
Although originally from Cirebon, I discovered this dish in Malang, East Java. The flavors might be adjusted to suit East Javanese tastes, making it different from the typically West Javanese version. To experience the difference for yourself, I suggest you visit the place. The stand is located near Graha Polinema and it is only available during the PORSENI XIV event, which runs from July 20 to 28, 2024. So, be sure to mark your calendar and visit the location!.
