Hindust in Malang celebrating Ngembak Geni tradition with special ceremony In Malang regency called Nyepi (Batu city, Malang regency, East Java Province) and Dharmashanti in Badut temple in Malang at Friday (22/03/2023). Nyepi is a ceremony for hindust, and they celebrate this holy rituals after hindust done their pray called Catur Brata in Nyepi ceremony once a year.
Nyepi ceremony day have been going on yesterday at 22 March. Hindust celebrate Nyepi ceremony in one full day and then Hindus celebrate Ngembak Geni tradition as their next ritual. Ngembak Geni celebrated at tenth month of Balinese Hindus calendar, as the closing of the Nyepi ceremony.
Ngembak Geni have a essential meaning which inspired from freedom of activity as ancestors do in past. This come from two words from Ngembak means freedom and geni is a fire. So means that we have freedom or braves of fight for hindust life which inspired from freedom life from ancestors. There’s is a must to do for hindus called Catur Brata ceremony:
- Amati Geni (No fire or lighting a fire example: cooking, roasting)
- Amati Karya (no works)
- Amati lelungan (stay at home)
- Amati lelungan (no entertainment)
Closing Ceremony
Hindus that already do their pray called Brata penyepian tomorrow will be praying on Pura (hindus prayer place). So after that they do Ngembak Geni tradition do as a closing ceremony which also a part of Nyepi.
Hindust in Malang praise and thanking to their god, Sang Hyang Widhi as giving their belivers such as being blessed as always in every step belivers life in this tradition ritual after praying, a Catur Bata penyepian. Hindus also pray to god to get freedom, blessed, peace and purity of heart in this decades.
Next ritual is called Dharma Santi or Sima Krama means that a bond with family, friends, co workers etc with visut each their house. This means to forgive or forgiven every each people who make mistake to us. This also include an activity such as clean village together as a praise to god also bonding with each other hindus to increase their heart to heart relationship each Hindus.
